TP2008 ONT is an ideal Fiber to the Building (FTTB) solution, which delivers a superior experience with reliable, high-bandwidth capacity to each end user. Service providers benefit from a very competitive service offering with shorter time to market and flexible FTTX network deployment options.

TP2008 FTTB ONT delivers high-bandwidth triple play services to single-family residences and small businesses in MDU/MTU buildings (Multi Dwelling Unit/ Multi Tenant Unit). In the deployment of FTTx network , TP2008 FTTB ONT enables the reuse of existing in-building copper and coax cabling by supporting Ethernet access.

It interfaces the fiber network (GEPON), through 8 port 10/100M Base-T Ethernet to the existing short runs of copper wire that pre-exist within buildings reducing costs of installation and maintenance. It provides an uplink to the central office through its GEPON port to interface fiber optic network. In downstream, TP2008 provide 8 port 10/100M Base-T Ethernet with advanced L2 switching, QoS and Security Features functionality for FTTH FTTB deployments, and are configured and managed remotely via the Optical Line terminals (OLT).

The TP2008 FTTB ONT's low-profile design is ideal for installation in terminal rooms in building basements, racks, closets or outdoor cabinets. A compact chassis occupies a little space and consumes little power, saving the investment cost. TP2008 FTTB ONT just such an opportunity, offering an excellent return on investment for delivery of "triple-play" services—multiple voice lines, high-speed internet, and high-definition (HD) TV/video programming—in a GEPON-based FTTx network.
